Hessel is an old farmhouse, which is mentioned for the first time in 1391. The farm is located in , Vesthimmerlands Municipality (formerly Gislum Herred, Aalborg County). Until the Municipal Reform 2007, it was in Farsø Municipality. Originally, Hessel may have been hide-out for pirates who watched the sailing/voyage on Hvalpsund and broadg. In 1704, large parts of Hessel burned. The oldest part is a large high-rise, where the oak tree is from 1600. The main building was originally built in a binder that can still be seen on the side facing the park. The interior of the living room is unchanged since 1800. Hessel is today an agricultural museum and is open from May to September.
